Virgin media which already was supplying a fast 20Mb/ps Internet in many areas in the UK will now provide it's consumers a high speed of 30Mb/ps broadband speed. This new move from Virgin will allow consumers to download and upload data at much higher speeds than usual. It will almost be 50 percent higher than compared to the old 20Mbps.
This new service which Virgin calls XL is available from this very month of February and has been priced at £18.50 per month. And for the customers who are already with Virgin's 20Mb speed can upgrade to a 30Mb at just a one off upgrade cost of £30. Their monthly cost therein will remain the same. With the extra £30 one off cost the customers will not just enjoy high speed broadband each month but will also get gigabit Ethernet connectivity capable SuperHub DOCSUS 3.0 router and modem which supports dual-band N Wi-Fi to take care of all the wireless connections.
Also, unlike other broadband companies, Virgin provides the service as promised. They are able to reach that high speeds till the end point is due to their advanced technology. They do not use the VDSL technology as the others.Their technology makes no difference in the line with respect to the distance with the exchange. However far or near the house is from the Virgin media exchange you will get the same speed as promised.
The executive director for Virgin media, Mr. Jon James believes their XL plan of high speed Internet will help homes with multiple gadgets. All the house are now having a minimum of two gizmos which use broadband and with latest gizmos like the iPad, Apple TV and other such device coming into picture such high speed will become very essential. Virgin media supplies four different broadband packages which include speeds of 10Mb, 30Mb, 50Mb and 100Mb.
